The St. Louis Ultimate community is excited to announce Heatwave, a mixed tournament located in St. Louis, MO from June 28-29, 2014. St. Louis is centrally located to several cities in the Midwest and South, where there's a ton of great ultimate being played. We are in the process of searching for sponsorship but rest assured that this USAU sanctioned tournament will be a great way for your team to get some sanctioned games in and develop some chemistry.
In terms of USAU categories, we're happy to announce that this will be a "Select Flight" tournament! This means that of the 8 team slots, 4 will be reserved for Select teams, while the remaining 4 are open to any level of team. If the 4 select spots are not filled by May 31st, we will start adding teams from the waitlist (from any level of competition) until we reach capacity.
As a sanctioned tournament, teams that are registered with USAU will receive 'credit' for games against other registered teams, which eventually helps determine sectional bids to regionals (learn more here, scroll down for actual details. Make your games count! 10 sanctioned regular-season games are required for ranking in the USAU system, which allows your team to contribute to the section's official team count.)
